Human Trafficking and Smuggling Sub-sector

The Human Trafficking and Smuggling Sub-Sector has been created within the framework of the Protection Sector, with the purpose to coordinate and develop a joint and regional strategy for preventing and responding to human trafficking and smuggling of refugees and migrants in the context of the response to refugees and migrants from Venezuela.

From human rights, gender, intergenerational, and differential approaches mainstreaming, this Sub-Sector aims to contribute to developing the capacities of its members to build comprehensive responses to combat these two crimes, provide guidance and technical assistance to national authorities and civil society, as well as recommendations to relevant actors on the best way to systematically integrate work against these crimes in the existing response of the other sectors of the Regional Platform.

Este informe hace referencia a la quinta ronda de evaluación conjunta de necesidades del Grupo Interagencial sobre Flujos Migratorios Mixtos (GIFMM), realizada bajo el contexto del COVID-19 en Colombia durante junio de 2021, en el cual se dan a conocer los resultados y la metodología utilizada. La quinta ronda buscó conocer: i) cuáles son los niveles de acceso y disponibilidad a bienes y servicios básicos de parte de los hogares y sus problemas para acceder a ellos, ii) cómo han evolucionado las condiciones de vida y iii) cuáles son las prioridades de la población, con miras a establecer una línea base que informe la respuesta de cara al 2022.
