R4V Regional Response Plan for Refugees and Migrants from Venezuela
As of October 2019, more than 4.5 million refugees and migrants from Venezuela are outside their country of origin, with 3.7 million in the region alone. As per current trends, it is estimated that the number of refugees and migrants from Venezuela included in government official figures in countries across Latin America and the Caribbean, will reach up to 5.5 million by the end of 2020. In this context, this RMRP 2020 is the result of field-driven planning, bringing together 137 appealing organizations, in consultation with host governments, civil society and faith-based organizations, local communities, donors, as well as the refugees and migrants themselves with common objective of addressing the overarching humanitarian, protection and socioeconomic integration needs of refugees and migrants from Venezuela.
A octubre de 2019, más de 4.5 millones de refugiados y migrantes de Venezuela están fuera de ese país, con 3.7 millones solo en la región. Según las tendencias actuales, se estima que el número de refugiados y migrantes de Venezuela incluidos en las cifras oficiales de los gobiernos en países de América Latina y el Caribe alcanzará hasta 5,5 millones para fines de 2020. En este contexto, el RMRP 2020 es el resultado de una planificación basada en el terreno, que reúne a 137 organizaciones, en consulta con los gobiernos receptores, la sociedad civil y las organizaciones religiosas, las comunidades locales, los donantes, así como los propios refugiados y migrantes con el objetivo común de abordar las necesidades humanitarias, de protección y de integración socioeconómica de refugiados y migrantes de Venezuela.

The political, human rights and socio-economic developments in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela have led to the largest movement of refugees and migrants in the recent history of Latin America and the Caribbean. As of November 2020, of the approximately 5.4 million refugees and migrants from Venezuela outside of their country of origin, some 4.6 million are hosted in the region alone, including an increasing number of them in an irregular situation. Despite the devastating and ongoing socioeconomic and human impact of COVID-19, countries in Latin America and the Caribbean have continued to show solidarity towards Venezuelans and tofacilitate access to basic rights and lifesaving services as well as supporting their integration.
Los acontecimientos políticos, de derechos humanos y socioeconómicos en la República Bolivariana de Venezuela han dado lugar al mayor movimiento de personas refugiadas y migrantes de la historia reciente de América Latina y el Caribe. A fecha de noviembre de 2020, de las aproximadamente 5,4 millones de personas refugiadas y migrantes de Venezuela que se encuentran fuera de su país de origen, unas 4,6 millones están alojadas solo en esta región, incluido un creciente número de personas en situación irregular. A pesar de las devastadoras y continuas repercusiones socioeconómicas y humanas de la COVID-19, los países de América Latina y el Caribe han seguido mostrando su solidaridad con los venezolanos y las venezolanas para facilitar el acceso a derechos básicos y a servicios vitales, así como para apoyar su integración.
Understanding the information and communication needs of refugees and migrants in the Venezuela Situation
Entendiendo las necesidades de información y comunicación de las personas refugiadas y migrantes en la Situación de Venezuela
Una encuesta regional para comprender las necesidades de información y comunicación de las personas refugiadas y migrantes de Venezuela reveló que la mitad de ellas sienten que no tienen suficiente información sobre sus derechos y sobre dónde encontrar la asistencia disponible. El estudio fue realizado por más de 30 organizaciones en América Latina y el Caribe, en el marco de la Plataforma Regional de Coordinación Interagencial para Refugiados y Migrantes de Venezuela (R4V).
A regional survey on the information and communication needs of refugees and migrants from Venezuela found that half of them feel that they don’t have enough information on their rights and where to obtain assistance. The study was carried out by over 30 organizations across Latin America and the Caribbean, under the framework of the Regional Inter-Agency Coordination Platform for Refugees and Migrants from Venezuela (R4V).

In recent years, countries of Latin America and the Caribbean have been facing one of the largest humanitarian crises and exoduses ever experienced in the history of the region. To date, more than 5.4 million refugees and migrants from Venezuela are outside their home country, an estimated 4.6 million of which reside within the region.
En años recientes, los países de América Latina y el Caribe han enfrentado una de las más grandes crisis humanitarias y de desplazamiento antes experimentadas en la historia de la región. Hasta la fecha, más de 5,4 millones de refugiados y migrantes de Venezuela están afuera de su país de origen, con un estimado de 4,6 millones adentro de la región.
