  El 2022 fue el año más violento de la historia del Ecuador, según la tasa de muertes violentas, que pasó de 10,5 a 25,5 homicidios por cada 100 000 habitantes. Las provincias de Esmeraldas, Manabí, y Los Ríos registraron tres veces más muertes violentas que el año anterior. Además, el Sistema de Justicia reportó 81 víctimas de femicidio, mientras que OSC denunciaron 332 casos. En el segundo semestre del 2022, Ecuador enfrentó desafíos significativos que aumentaron los riesgos para las mujeres, niñas y adolescentes. La inseguridad, la violencia, las masacres carcelarias, los enfrentamientos entre bandas organizadas y las brechas de desigualdad impactaron en la vida de las personas. La crueldad con que se perpetraron las muertes violentas se replicó en los casos de femicidios y muertes de mujeres en el contexto delictivo.

The end-year report for 2022 highlights contextual challenges, the response and lessons learned that will inform the response of the now 228 appealing partners of R4V, who will continue to respond to the needs of refugees and migrants from Venezuela through activities proposed in the RMRP 2023-2024, the first multi-year response plan in the region.
