United Nations agencies and the Brazilian Army receive human rights award for humanitarian response to the situation in Venezuela

UNHCR, IOM, UNFPA, UNICEF and the commander of the Operación Acogida (Reception Operation) were recognized by the Ministry of Human Rights of Brazil for the joint actions of attention to refugees and migrants from Venezuela. “This award represents the joint work of all the actors that make up the humanitarian response. UNHCR is part of the coordination team that works together with partners from the Government, the Armed Forces and the civil society in this joint effort”, said José Egas, representative of UNHCR in Brazil.
